Introduction

Anatomy is the scientific study of the structure of organisms, including humans, focusing on identifying body parts and their relationships to one another. It is derived from Greek for “cutting up” and primarily utilizes dissection, gross observation, and microscopic study to understand the body, often paired with physiology.

Core Divisions of Anatomy

• Gross (Macroscopic) Anatomy – studying structures visible to the naked eye (muscle, bones, organs).
• Microscopic Anatomy – investigating structures requiring magnification, including cytology (cells) and histology (tissues).
• Developmental / Embryology: The study of structural changes from fertilized egg to fetus.

Vision

To develop and implement outstanding educational programs for medical graduates to develop well equipped department of Anatomy with latest laboratory technologies in Gross anatomy (Medical cytogenetics and Molecular biology) to train our medical graduates and assist our clinicians at diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic levels.

Mission

To impart basic and clinical knowledge.

To raise the academic standard of the Anatomy department by implementing UG     curriculum to match the global standards.

Inculcate moral and spiritual values to build a clinically and ethically sound medical graduate by conducting seminar, self-directive learning (SDL), Early Clinical Exposure (ECE) to undergraduate students.

To impart quality medical education with the help of qualified, dedicated and motivated teaching faculties by providing excellent academic environment to undergraduate students to lay the foundation of medical education and research.
